The Orioles came up just short in a dramatic 7-6 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, despite pounding out 14 hits and launching three home runs. Kobe Mayo delivered a massive blast, Christian Encarnacion-Strand drove in four runs, and Pete Alonso stayed hot with another home run in his Tampa homecoming. Baltimore held a 6-4 lead before the Rays answered late, turning the game in the seventh inning and handing the Orioles a narrow defeat. Even so, the series win still gave the Orioles three out of four in St. Petersburg and a 5-5 finish to an exhausting 10-game road trip.
