Orioles Clubhouse Podcast: Orioles vs Phillies 07-31-26

The Orioles opened their three-game series at home against the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-4 win. After falling behind early 2-0 in the first inning, Pete Alonso tied things up with a two-run home run. The Orioles made some impressive plays on defense to help out starting pitcher Brandon Young, but a couple of solo home runs from Trea Turner and JT Realmuto gave the Phillies the lead back. However, the Orioles came back, starting with a pinch-hit two-run double from Christian Encarnacion-Strand. Then, Gunnar Henderson, who was 0-3 leading up to his next at-bat, gave the Orioles the lead for the first time in the game with a two-run triple. The bullpen kept the Phillies offense in check with Anthony Nunez earning the win, Yennier Cano earning the hold, and Tyler Wells securing the save. The Orioles face the Phillies in the second game of the series tomorrow at 7:05pm.
