The importance of individual therapy and applying what you learn. Trying to fix things, rather then listening to understand. Looking at the other person's perspective. Differences in brains can be a supportive thing in a romantic relationship. Understanding your autistic partner's type of honesty. Knowing what makes your partner feel loved and understanding their wants and needs. Autistic people can be very sensitive to any type of rejection or criticism. Depersonalization is the key! Frontloading conversations can help with understanding and connection. Seeing differences as reality, rather then misconstruing them as rude, abrasive or inappropriate.
