Orkney Folk Tales 6 ~ the Ultimate Compilation by Storyteller Tom Muir

© ℗ 2024 Tom Muir This ultimate compilation of Orkney stories is told by native Orcadian storyteller and historian Tom Muir, MBE, awarded for his lifelong work recovering, restoring and promoting Orkney Islands folk tales, heritage and lore. These Orkney tales are curated from Tom Muir's "Tales for Troubled Times", as archived on our Orkneyology.com website. Originally recorded as a gift during the Covid-19 lockdowns to cheer folk who were isolating at home, these stories are on the rough-and-ready side - unedited and of somewhat varying audio quality, just as Tom recorded them nightly in our attic bedroom ... or in the library if the fire was on. Together they create an important Orkney Islands heritage sound archive. You can hear the rest of Tom's Tales for Troubled Times (including the many non-Orkney stories as well) on our website: https://www.orkneyology.com/tales-fro... If you enjoy these Orkney tales, you might like our podcast, the Orkneyology Podcast ~ Ower wi' the Moon, where we have a good blether with fascinating friends by the light of each full moon. https://www.orkneyology.com/orkneyolo... As part of our work of preserving islands heritage and lore, Tom and I publish unusual niche books through our indie press, Orkneyology Press. We invite you to buy our books directly from our website, which is one way to give extra financial support to both publishers and authors at no additional cost to you. https://shop.orkneyology.com/collecti... If you'd like to help us continue and expand our Orkney folklore and heritage work, you can easily buy us a dram or two on our Ko-fi page. Many thanks! https://ko-fi.com/orkneyology Hosted on Acast.
