Ornette Coleman - The Empty Foxhole

The Empty Foxhole was recorded in September 1966 and released on Blue Note Records in both mono and stereo versions that same year, just nineteen months before the day I was born. You’re listening to the mono version. It features Ornette Coleman on saxophone, trumpet, and violin, Ornette’s then-10-year old son Denardo on drums, and Charlie Haden on bass. The track listing is, side one, Good Old Days, The Empty Foxhole, and Sound Gravitation, followed by side two, Freeway Express, Faithful, and Zig Zag. All songs were written by Ornette.
