Oscar of Astora

Oscar of Astora is a pivotal knight in Dark Souls who rescues the player from the Undead Asylum. He imparts the prophecy of the Chosen Undead and provides the essential Estus Flask before dying and turning Hollow. Originally, developers planned an extensive unused questline where Oscar survives, mirrors the player's journey, and becomes a final antagonist based on the player's ultimate moral choices.
