Oscar-Qualified Short-Film Screening In Ohio Shares Bravery In Serbia
from View From The Pugh · host Chris Pugh
Director Nebojsa Slijepcevic discusses his short film "The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent," which will be shown in various Ohio locations this weekend. The film is based on a true story of a passenger train traveling in Serbia from Belgrade to Bar when it is stopped by paramilitary forces in an ethnic cleansing operation. There, we meet the man who quite literally could remain silent and stand up for his rights as well as those of others on board, leaving witnesses to this horrific form of treatment in shock. This film is Oscar-qualified, having won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and recently screening at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.
