Our Calling As Believers
from Carter Conlon | Daily Devotionals · host Carter Conlon
1 Corinthians 1:26–28 says, “For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.”Here's the amazing part: In Christ Jesus, we have been given wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, all as gifts from God. We've also been equipped with supernatural abilities to fulfill our divine callings. We are not meant to be mere spectators in the church world but active participants in advancing God's Kingdom. Let us recognize and embrace our calling today as members—important members, wonderful members—of the body of Jesus Christ. It's time now to pray.
