from Travel Writers Radio
Dark Sky tourism is a big mover in tourism, even here in Australia. We spoke this week with Judith Bailey, president of Dark Sky Victoria and she told Graeme Kemlo that in Melbourne many could no longer see one of the stars of the Southern Cross. Australia is world- renowned for its dark skies and our light pollution problem is affecting tourism and also affecting the animals we share the place with – insects, birds, mammals, who rely on the dark sky to navigate effectively.
