"Our Desperate Need For God One Day At A Time"--1:1 Conversation with Scott Weeman, Founder of Catholic in Recovery

This week’s Say Yes to Holiness podcast 1:1 Conversation is with Scott Weeman of Catholic in Recovery. Scott is the founder of Catholic in Recovery, a nonprofit organization that seeks to serve those suffering from addictions and unhealthy attachments (including alcoholism, drug addiction, pornography addiction, sex and relationship addiction, compulsive overeating and food addictions, gambling addiction, codependency and the impact on family, and general fear, control, and anxiety). Our conversation revolved around Scott's personal story and how his journey became the launching point for the Catholic in Recovery movement that now accompanies thousands of people across the world. Catholic in Recovery came from the passion of Scott Weeman as he found healing and new life through the help of twelve-step recovery and the sacramental love and mercy provided by the Catholic Church. Catholic in Recovery now supports parishes and communities with group resources that draw people closer to these two powerful sources of grace. Most wonderful though is that the primary aim of Catholic in Recovery is to share the Good News that God can bring about healing and recovery, even in the most hopeless of cases. n addition to the Scott's personal story, we also spoke about the different options that have emerged within Catholic in Recovery to assist people struggling with addictions, compulsions and unhealthy attachments. Although this conversation with Scott was challenging, it filled me with great hope and encouragement for myself and for others struggling to SAY YES to God's invitation to live an abundant life.
