Our Father: Part 5 - Fr. Gregory - February 27, 2022

Today is Meatfare or Judgement Sunday in the Orthodox Church. Father Gregory reminds us that we live in a fallen world, speaking on the horror in Ukraine and discussing the prodigal son from last week's Gospel. Forgiveness is essential in a fallen world and is the theme of next week's Gospel. Continuing his series on the Lord's Prayer, Father Gregory examines the verse, "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." To forgive is to be like God. But to forgive others, we must first be aware of our sins and confess them so that we might feel God's forgiveness. It is much easier to extend grace and compassion to others if we experience God's mercy for our sinfulness.
