Often society's portrayal of what is acceptable for our young black girls entails negative stereotypes that many are too eager to adopt. How do we instead get our at risk girls on track to a positive and empowering life experience? We do it by genuinely showing concern and care. Our guest, Jessica Ballew, Chief Empowerment Officer of J.E.S.S.I.C.A Cares, believes in empowering young women one positive thought at a time. Her name's acronym stands for Journey to becoming an Extraordinary, Strong, Successful, Individual with Courageous Aspirations. Jessica believes that every young lady has something special and extraordinary to offer the world. Therefore, her mission is to assist young adolescent girls to see themselves under the same powerful light and guide them to develop necessary skills to live a life of purpose.
