Our Misplaced Hope - John 5:1-17 (04.19.2026)

Pastor Hunter Clayton: In this sermon through John 5:1–17, we study the healing at the pool of Bethesda, where Jesus intentionally finds and heals a man who had waited 38 years. The passage exposes misplaced hopes, shows Jesus’ sovereign power, and highlights that his ultimate concern is the soul. We also see the Sabbath conflict with religious leaders and Jesus’ command to “sin no more,” inviting listeners to replace their temporary hopes with trust in Christ and live in light of the coming resurrection and judgment.
