Our New Neighbors, Episode 23 - Shalo Shomansurova

Shalo Shomansurova has always had a love for languages and literature. In her native Tajikistan, in Central Asia, she was well-educated in those areas. In 2022, on her fifth try, Shalo won the U.S. State Department's Green Card Lottery, and was able to emigrate to the United States. Today, she works at Catholic Charities in Syracuse, teaching English and Citizenship to newly-arrived immigrants.
