Our Primary Purpose Alcoholics Anonymous has one primary purpose: to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety. Today we’ll talk about why carrying the message must remain at the center of everything AA does, how one alcoholic helping another protects the simplicity of the program, and what can happen when personalities, politics, money, status, or outside issues begin replacing our common purpose. AA does not exist to solve every problem in the world.
