Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.—1 Corinthians 15:58We are Easter people living in a Friday world, and our work declares that Friday is not the final word.(1) The Resurrection Stirs Our Compassion for the HurtingHe executes justice [mishpat] for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.—Deuteronomy 10:18This is what the Lord Almighty said: “Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor.—Zechariah 7:9-10aThe Gospel’s Impact: We look at someone in need and we see ourselves.(2) The Resurrection Gives Us Confidence in What We’re DoingThe Resurrection proves that death has no grip on the person of Jesus, but also on the work of Jesus.What can I do?1.
