Our World Our Time Ep mini 38 Yaa Asantewaa
from Our World Our Time · host Black Ceezar
This post is from last year, before I even thought doing this podcast, and I never got around to posting this. It makes more sense to do so now with it being Women's History Month. This is about The Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa of the Ejisu of The Ashanti Empire. Her father was exiled and she stepped and motivated her people stand up against The British in the late 1800s. Please do some research on this woman and the whole war itself. I also found out the picture we've been led to people was The Queen Mother isn't her at all. This picture I've posted is from 1900 and its more peaceful looking than the gun holding medal wearing solider that has been seen by so many of us. I have to thank Mac Jordan who posted the picture last year on Twitter. Please do your research and enjoy. Email any comments [email protected]
