If the words to which you are dutiful Appeared all over your skin Would you still be beautiful Or would you long to try again? Sticks and stones can break your bones, But words, my dear, can damn you. Tricks and tones, even whispered alone, Words, my dear, can scam you. Words can do damage. Words can repair. Words can help manage the deepest despair. Every single one of us, Remembers some encouraging word - And every single one of us, Is scarred by some cruelty we’ve heard. How can we forget this awesome and terrible power? To make another soul flower, Or seething, to make them cower… From the tongue the heart is known, In your daily language your soul is shown… If you constantly belittle, then you are quite small, If you constantly lift others up, you might, in fact, be tall… The heart is like a fertile field,  It’ll grow whatever you plant to fabulous yield… Whether you plant Deadly Nightshade Or good and useful Wheat - Out of the heart the tongue does speak, Gentle light or course deceit… Even God showed us the creative power of words, He spoke into being the land and the sea, And with a simple statement, Withered unto death the fruitless Fig Tree. Your words have eminence, They define your whole being. They show and are evidence, Of your very meaning.
