Here the Beckies chat with Lynne, an outstanding childminder, we discover all about her latest Ofsted visit.  Grab a cuppa and join us for ten minutes to find out what an Ofsted inspections feels and looks like. Interactions, bonds and relationships were key to what the Ofsted inspector was observing.Independent skills were high up on the list; to help build these skills with the  children Lynne takes the time for every child to have chance to create their own snacks, pour drinks and build their confidence in their own abilities. To have an 'I can do this' attitude children need to have opportunities to do things for themselves. From a young age children should try out their ideas and test these, to get things wrong and learn from their own thoughts is crucial for their development. Children learn by doing and with a supportive adult to help when invited in or when needed. Mini - adventurers thrive in Lynne's practice, she listens well and works closely with the children and families to understand  their needs.  She builds upon their ideas and interests to enable them to have ownership of the play space. We were interested to find out  what Lynne feels  is the best thing about working with children and owning her own business -  freedom and independence in her practice enables the children to thrive.
