Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer is not a common cancer but isn’t a rare cancer either. It causes the death of 5000 women a year and it is often diagnosed later than it could be. There are common misconceptions about it such as cervical smears look for it (they don’t!), it is a ‘silent killer’ ( it isn’t!) and that it can’t be treated effectively (it can – and very effectively!). In this podcast Mr Philip Rolland, Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist, Claudette Homer, Health Care Support Worker, Alex Bawden, Ward Manager and GP Trainee Maleesha Balasooriya discuss ovarian cancer, symptoms and management and how more women could be treated and survive. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
