Gardaí responded to over 3,500 domestic violence call-outs in the Clare-Tipperary division last year. The figure marks an annual increase of over 15%. Since 2021, the number of reported incidents across the two counties has grown by over 50%. Safer Clare Founder and Clare Local Area Network Member June Dillon says an investigation is urgently needed to bolster local support services.
