Overboard (2018) | Movie Review

from Silver Screen Guide | Movie Review Podcast · host Silver Screen Guide

Kate, played by Anna Faris, takes advantage of a situation when Leonardo, played by Eugenio Derbez, falls off of his expensive yacht and washes up on shore with retrograde amnesia. Kate tricks him into thinking that they are married as he becomes a means to an end. Struggling with money, kids, and passing her nursing exam, she finds that having someone that wouldn’t know any better do the dirty work can be quite a life to live, for her and her kids. All the while, the Leonardo’s family preps for the torch of the family company to be passed to the next child in line as the father nears his death. Theresa, played by Eva Longoria, plans to take the position with Leonardo gone. Will Kate’s lie be revealed? Will Theresa get the head position? Will Leonardo’s memory ever return, or is he stuck living a middle-class life forever? Curtis joins Allen once again, as they talk about the remake to a movie that nobody asked for. Is it worth seeing, or should you let that ship sail? Listen in to find out on this mostly spoiler-free review of Rob Greenberg’s Overboard.
