A lot of people today are talking about overbuilding in assisted living and senior housing communities. But what is overbuilding and does it really exist? There are a few areas that are overbuilt, which mean they have more beds than they do seniors to fill them, but most are under built and there are many areas where senior living facilities are nonexistent. There’s an average of 4,000 people turning 85 each day -- that’s 120,000 a month or 104 million people a year turning 85. The baby boomer generation is aging.
