from Sweet Liberation: Living the Sweet Life without Sugar · host Nabila Fowles-Gutierrez & Luke Goddard

In this episode of Sweet Liberation Podcast, we are interviewing Jayney Goddard. Jayney Goddard is the founder and president of The Complementary Medicine Association (CMA) the founder and co-chair of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Jayney is one of the world’s leading experts in complementary medicine and natural anti-aging fields. She is a broadcaster, author, lecturer, and journalist. She has a Master of Science post-graduate degree from UCLan, and was trained in Mind/Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School, under Dr Herbert Benson (the “father” of Mind/ Body Medicine). Joining us today, Jayney discusses important facts about complementary medicine and antiaging lifestyle practices. She clarifies that for those unfamiliar, the term "complementary medicine" can sometimes be understood as integrative medicine, covering natural healthcare practices outside conventional medicine. Jayney discusses what it really is and goes into her story of founding the CMA 31 years ago. She also shares her opinion regarding ZUKR as a product and why it got approved as a CMA supplier regardless of their tough process. Jayney discusses the outdated beliefs that genetic tendencies to have diseases cannot be changed, and how advancements in epigenetics show that lifestyle choices significantly influence genetic expression, either promoting health or illness. She then goes into the toxic effects of consuming processed sugar and how it plays a vital role in aging and chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
