Overcoming the Dark Spiral

In Colossians 3:1-4 Paul encourages his readers to think about the things of heaven.  This can be extremely difficult, especially if our thoughts are caught in a downward spiral.  However, the key to overcoming the spiral is accepting the reality of what Jesus has accomplished for us: Seeing reality with the backdrop of eternity.  This magnificent hope is our light at the end of the tunnel.  The hope of his return overcomes the dark spiral of the mind and enables us to lift our thoughts toward heaven.
