Overcoming Unbelief

Note: We have decided to no longer post the Sunday morning sermon to the podcast for the time being because the entire service can be found on The Vine’s YouTube channel.In today’s podcast, Warren and Jason discuss the story of a man bringing his spirit-possessed son to Jesus in Mark 9:14-29. As we read the story, it’s easy to imagine the ways in which this man would be someone struggling with doubt, fear, anger and pain. One can envision the ways in which his words come from a place of brokenness and despair. His final words in the story are as relatable as they are contradictory on a surface level — “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief.” In discussing this passage, Jason and Warren talk about faith, belief, prayer and the ways in which we are equipped to move forward in times of uncertainty.
