Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Review

Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom, a new anime film, adapts volumes 12 and 13 of the Overlord light novel series, focusing on an arc omitted from the television show. The film depicts the machinations of the main character, Ains Ooal Gown, as he manipulates events in the Roble Sacred Kingdom. While visually stunning thanks to Studio Madhouse, the film's two-hour runtime results in a rushed narrative that may confuse newcomers unfamiliar with the established lore. Although the film is considered a necessary addition to the overall Overlord story, its brevity and reliance on prior knowledge might disappoint some viewers.
