Overnight America KMOX NewsRadio 1120 interviewed Mark Henkel - March 2020

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on Overnight America, hosted by Ryan Wrecker, on KMOX NewsRadio 1120, in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 4, 2020. The interview had been originally scheduled to focus on bigamy laws in general and on the then-new law that was being passed in Utah that reduced the charges of bigamy from a felony to an infraction for UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. The host began gaslighting from the beginning, mocking in doubt that the "purported clause" in bigamy laws really threatened anyone. After hearing different forms of polygamy identified, the host asked specifically about Christian Polygamy. As Mark Henkel explained how the Christian Polygamy movement made it possible for the overall larger UCAP movement, Henkel explained how Christians come to find the former.  Henkel explained the common experience of a number of Christians in numerous, various denominations: "When you really study the Bible, you discover it is an absolute impossibility to say that you believe in the Bible and that the Bible bans polygamy." From that point on, the host sought to continually gaslight or to try to trap Mark Henkel in specific answers. When Mark Henkel showed that the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 provided an example of the sinless Jesus Christ proverbially describing himself in polygamous terms, the host repeatedly gaslighted as if that obvious example of a polygamous wedding still somehow had nothing to do with polygamy, not even proverbially. Observing those tactics being attempted, Mark Henkel declared that he could see those would-be traps that the host was trying to set and that he would not be so trapped. He gave his sound-bite example that demonstrates how such traps work: "Have you finally stopped beating your loved ones with a jagged two-by-four, yes or no?" After hearing the host's repeated interruptions of "where in the New Testament" questions, Mark Henkel used his "airplane" soundbite to show the illogic. The host refused to get back on the main topic of law. Instead, the host consumed the rest of the time on gaslighting the Biblical issues to slander Mark Henkel,  to repeatedly call him crazy, and even to tell the audience that the host believed that Mark Henkel was "one of those people" who deliberately misleads people with mis-readings of Scripture; the host repeatedly emphasized that that was "so dangerous."  After the interview, the host took back-patting callers and he used that to directly slander Mark Henkel.  Hearing the continued discussion online in real-time, Mark Henkel tweeted how the host had put words in his mouth again.  The host read the tweet on-air and then re-played previous audio which actually proved that Mark Henkel was correct about the host's falsehood - yet the host still gaslighted otherwise.  As such, seven additional minutes have been added to this podcast episode in order to re-wind and re-play the spoken parts, full quoted contexts, and the mentioned twitter thread (see: https://twitter.com/MHenkelPolygamy/status/1235418614418661378 ). This additional ending portion of the podcast episode proves that, not only were the host's gaslighting efforts evident, and not only were the host's claims false regarding what Mark Henkel had said, but those statements by the host might even likely be legally-pursuable as charges of slander.  Consequently, this hostile interview has been transformed into an attention-grabbing yet positive exposition.
