Housing affordability and home ownership is one of the hottest topics going right now and my guest in this episode is Tim Harley, co-founder and CEO of OwnHome.com which is helping renters get into the market eight times faster thanks to their innovative rent-to-buy model. Tim has a background in finance and fintech, having worked with overseas payment and currency exchange software, Wise, time in private investing, Macquarie and at Herbert Smith Freehills. OwnHome.com were the winner of the Proptech for Good Award at the 2022 Proptech Awards hosted by the Proptech Association of Australia and in this interview, we explore the very meaty issue of housing affordability, and the challenges faced by renters in trying to save for a deposit, which currently takes a typical couple 10 years longer than previous generations.
