Mark Utech is the President of Utech Basement Waterproofing a second generation service contractor operating in Western New York. Mark has been working in basements for over 40 years, beginning his career by spending Saturdays and summer vacations working in the family business since the age of 14. Mark joined the organization full time in 1989, became partner in 1996 and 100% owner in 2008. Developing extensive knowledge in residential waterproofing and foundation repair methods Mark has helped Utech Basement Waterproofing become a leader in the Western New York Industry. One of Mark’s favorite projects was the innovative use of helical piles in the redevelopment of the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Buffalo. In 2015, Mark saw a need for support of small business owners and started Elevate Development LLC a Western New York based startup specializing in the strategic business management and operational control of small to medium sized enterprises. Elevate Development helps its clients reach greater heights in business and personally. Mark currently serves on the board for the local WNY chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization, was a past board member of the Home Improvement Council of WNY and mentors other small business owners through the University of Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Mark earned a BA in business management with a concentration in finance from the University at Buffalo. Mark considers himself a self help junkie and when he is not working or spending time with his wife Kim and 4 children he enjoys boating on Lake Erie.
