SCIENTISTS HAVE announced plans to genetically modify the dangerous H7N9 virus to make it more lethal. They say it will help them understand how it could mutate in nature and trigger a catastrophic pandemic.Hmm. The case mortality rate for H7N9 so far is near 20%, or about four times more deadly than the 1918/19 Spanish Flu.
