Started studying rawhide braiding at the age of 15 with his mentor, the late Don Luis Alberto Flores. In 2004, Lozano was invited to participate in a rawhide braiding seminar sponsored by the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA) and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His work is on display there and at the Ben Johnson Cowboy Museum.
