Hello everyone and welcome to Living by the Law, the podcast discussing fictional worlds and our wondrous and ridiculous they are. My name is Matt and I'm joined by my co-host, Judang Guy, living by the law is not currently sponsored. If you'd wish to sponsor us, turn us into astronauts. Let us go from interview to interview, scroung our prowess in your brand.

Once everyone wants to be us and everyone needs what you're selling, we will hear you. We always do. One monster down, how many more could they possibly be? Welcome back to the world of Pacific Rim, where humanity fights back against giant kaijuis in the most cinematic way possible.

Giant robots called Yegas. Today we delve into the details of the kaiju war and how humanity signed its own death war. Heads up, this episode contains spoilers for the Pacific Rim movies and related media. Enjoy.

Now I could sit here and complain about certain things from a certain hobby, slash game of mine and how depressing things are when a thing gets brought back but the price point of it is so ridiculously high that it's just like what are you trying to do? You can't sort of this game in the first place because it was too expensive and now it's back at double the price and when this just happens across games in general, I could sit here and complain about that but instead I'm going to ask a very simple question. Who's your favorite actor? That's a big question.

No, it's still working the same way. What's your favorite movie? There's too many answers and not one really fits every category I love. You know what I mean?

But I have to. Yeah. Yeah. I have to.

I don't know how to pronounce his name because it's me stupid but Kegwick one, the guy who plays the partner in everything ever else, once the husband. He also plays, I think he's in like a spine move, you're some shit recently. It's really good. He's delightful.

He just has a very nice positive masculine energy. You know, you see a lot of ripped guys and Kegwick's just got like that energy. He's a Mobius in Loki. The mechanic guy in Loki who's stuck down in the Thorroboros.

To be fair, Thorroboros and Mobius is a similar concept but yeah. Yeah. Orboros? Yeah.

Orboros? Yeah. He fucks. The other one who I don't have anything that I've seen him in that he's the main character that he fucks in but every time I see him, he goes super hard.

Who is? Oh dear God, I've forgotten the name. Give me two seconds. Someone else riff.

I honestly think that there's a lot of actors that come to mind outside of any work. I think John Cena, ironically, is one of the nicest people persons in alive. Like he's a really nice person. John Cena.

I think honestly, if I had to pick James McAvoy, I don't think he gets enough love. I think he's a good work him and like fast mender. Yeah. I just think I love first class.

I think it's the first class to go movie. It's pretty good. But like James McAvoy in Split. There's problems that movie but him and that movie phenomenal.

Yeah. Insanely good. That's fair. My one that I was not remembering the name of is Alan Tudyk.

Absolutely king. Never seen him play a main role and I don't want him to because he thrives as the secondary character. I will always rep him in season two of Doug gently. He was insane as Mr.

Priest. Just unhinged character. And I saw him in like a YouTube short of the rookie and he's just like a cleaner and he just starts talking about like bloods about about it. He's like, he's incapable of not being sick as fuck.

Have you watched Firefly? No. You should watch Firefly. Okay.

So what's your answer dude? Emi come. Easy. So what I'm noticing is we have three guys on the panel and we have five male actors.

So just pointing that out. Just having to think about that. Just putting it out there and then we'll continue. Yeah.

Absolutely agree. Great after. Well, at least my one's queer. So like there's that I guess.

Okay. So that gives you some points. Anne Hathaway trying to cure a nightly. Amazing.

Curranightly in fucking Pirates of the Caribbean goes harder. Who's the main character in Pitch Perfect? What's the actor's name? Um, yes, yes.

Oh fuck. Because she's also in Into the Woods. Yeah. Um, I love the fuck's her name.

Anna Kendrick. Anna Kendrick. Yeah. She she rules too.

Yeah. Actually who the fuck who's the other guy? That's one of my other favorite sub actors in in films is oh, he's in like one scene. Never mind me saying fine.

You know who's the great actor? Yeah. He just held up. He's a good actor.

No, he's the gold plug thing he did. I don't trust him. Okay. Acting wise though.

Very fun. Great. Great in in Thor. Really good as um, I'm I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not any care left of my body.

Oh, no. Yeah. He did a some of my body. Oh, the Australian group didn't know that.

Yeah. Yeah. I off flue flue flue la Borg. Great guy.

Love Flue la Borg. Nice. Like hum borg. What a good guy.

But it just over you know, is that the other best role? Uh, stack up Hendecost in Pacific Rim, baby. Yeah. Do you know, do you know, do you know, do you know, do you know, yeah, I was going to do the theme song for the whole time.

Yeah. Every episode we open with that. We are back maybe with more Pacific Rim. So let's recap last time.

So Pacific Rim is a sci-fi universe that pits humanity against colossal monsters for battle survival. They're called kaijus. Last time we talked about the beginning of the problem, the breach opening kaijus coming out using nuclear bombs to stop it and the development of the Yegas to see surf. It's a brain brain.

Fuck the Yegas are giant robots. Really hard. Literally the dark giant robots that we came to the monster of our own to fight back. Is there anything else you think we need to add from the last episode and recap?

Yeah, the pilots have to be, there has to be two pilots because the neuro load is too much for one brain and they have to sink through the space and not get distracted by the rabbits and make sure they stay together and it like links their brains and it means the drift. That's it. I've been saying these guys repeatedly. My brain remembers things one to the left.

I don't know if there's like a bit shift arrow in there somewhere. But I'm trying to remember things and I'm like one word to the left. I'm saying surf. I'm looking for drift.

It's like, they're close. I get how I got there, but fuck. Yes. You can immediately like open you up and just like fix a couple of lives.

I'm willing to be dissected. I think that there's something to be done up there. I think that's interesting. I go back and watch the last episode if you want to recap it all the juiciness.

You go back and watch all of the actual previous parts. Like start from the start and just work your way for it. Well, I mean, I'm not the only content. No, in 2013, a dimensional portal opened up called the breach in the Pacific Ocean, letting huge monsters are only to be stopped by nuclear weapons.

As I said, and we can create these monsters called the Yegas. We just rolled out the Mark 1 Yegas and we had the original, which was Broly Euchen. Just we just talked about how it claimed a victory over a Kaiju. The first time a Kaiju had been defeated without huge destruction of a nuke, having to be used.

And this puts us at the end of 2015 where five more Yegas were built rounding out the Mark ones. Did we make the Kaiju's? No. We didn't make the Kaiju.

They come into the breach. Yeah, but we put the nukes in there. Like what if they were just like little puppies before and then we nuclear arise? No, no, no, no.

They came to the breach with big monsters. Yeah, but that's also where we dumped all the nuclear warheads. So it's like we had nukes in the Murrow of Trent. Nothing you know of.

Well, do you know the sick and say I say it's the Russians. The Russians put a nukes in the Murrow of Trent. Yeah, yes. Convenience.

Yeah, we need them. We should put all the nukes in the Murrow of Trent. De-nuke or ideological warfare. Against say, do you nuke or yes?

I don't want to put them all in the Mariana's Drench because that's how you end up with Kaiju's. This is what I'm saying. We're cooking guys. We're cooking.

But one thing I kind of didn't think is a very good time to explain as we can't take any pause here with the first card you death to explain way more about what Kaiju's are. We explained a lot about what you guys are first card you death at the hands of a year ago. At the end of the year, you're right. Yeah, cool.

Let's talk about what you're talking about what Kaiju's are and talk a little bit more about what Yegas are and some details about them. We talked mostly about them. But let's talk about Kaiju. So as data, they are a race of giant amphibious creatures that come through the breach into our world being destruction.

Kaiju's are highly toxic. Basically, anywhere they go, they create pollution and have toxic radiation off them. To the to write how dangerous each Kaiju is, you might have been notified I've been using a category. So it's category two, category three, Kaiju's.

Very much like a hurricane. Yes. They use the Shirazawa scale and Shirazawa scale similar to a hurricane's uses. So it ranges from a cat one to a cat five.

So, I mean, the old scale does be updated. Well, yes, when this was when this was built, the original cat. So I'm here for hurricane accuracy. It's got a cat six now.

It goes 5e. Okay, well, that's it's like five one or something like that. There's a new shooting out of style. Why do they just not get a six?

I don't know. Actually, it's a good question. But I know it's because the original reason is because we managed to get beyond the cat five in the Great Plains of America. That's so funny.

There was one that was really good video about it. There's one town that had two category five hurricanes go over it like two years. It's got absolutely annihilated. Wow.

Yeah, that's crazy. So fun fact about the Shirazawa scale. It is named after the scientist from the original 1954 Godzilla movie who is responsible for the weapon that ultimately killed Godzilla. That's the fact that's where they got the name for it.

Unfortunately though, and fortunate for the movie because it's very useful for them, the exact calculations is unknown. We have no clue how they get to the categories we got. I see. But we do know there's three variables.

We know that it's about water displacement, basically how big the car is. So how much the toxic environment and the ambient radiation levels given off as they pass through the bridge. Those are the three factors they use. But honestly, sadly, it's kind of a fucking nonsense.

Nice. What we've seen were a huge kaiju with a bunch of damage and it would just be like, well, that was a category three and then another one kind of a reform. Maybe that was more toxic or more radiation came through, but we just didn't know. We don't know.

It's convenient. We have the movie needs to be the size. It's that size. That's basically it.

Could be a lot better. One thing I will talk about here too. I talked about last time about the tons of the tons of the tons of tons. Like it was like most 100.

The feet how tall they are. That's pretty accurate. But the way that sizing is done for the kaiju is not any of the movies or normalizations. It comes from, I believe playing cards that came out of the movies or some sort of collectible.

That had like the kaiju and this is the size it has. I think it sounds collectible. But I did some math on it because I saw some things online about it and it's ridiculously low for what it should be. I was going to say, if it's way too dense, it's like, well, there's arguments that they might be so far.

It's ridiculously like I looked up this. They should be about 10 times where they are. Because I'm like, these guys are huge, like skyscrapers big and they're weighing a small chip. And I'm like, that should weigh a lot more.

I feel like we've seen this before in a different form with Portal 2 where there's that thing of like there's 50,000 years between Portal 1 and Portal 2. And it's like, it's the secondary writer effect where someone's vaguely asked the writers and they're like, I think this. And they've written it down as cannons. So people quote it.

And it's like, no, no, no, no, no. So a lot of it, yeah, if you see online, you'll see a lot of the tonnage and the heights. The heights are pretty good. The tonnage, I believe, is pretty inaccurate.

I think could be a lot better. But again, again, we don't get a lot of hard numbers in the films or annoyations and stuff. It's more about it. It's vibes of how they're doing.

Fujita scale is what I'm thinking of. Apologies. Tornado scale is the Fujita scale. That's what I got mixed up with.

There you go. Cool. So yeah, so let's talk about the biology of a Kaiju. So they are silicon-based.

Lifeforms with fluids of the Kaiju is being ammonia-based. Every Kaiju instantly begins to depose and self-destruct on death. This makes it quite difficult to learn about Kaiju. So basically, it's a bit as quick as possible to get there.

These things, like internal organs, especially that are protected by bones, basically never get to be discovered. It's very hard to drill into a Kaiju. It takes a long time, especially to get into the skull. Any time they got to the skull, the brain's already decomposed.

So the meat part is annoyingly soft and easy to decompose and the bones are annoyingly hard. That's peak, I'm trying to get a lot of research. I'm looking at the skins very hard. They're not starting to go through it.

It's very hard to get through the skin itself. So yeah, they also release a toxic agent called Kaiju Blue, which also makes them very hard to get close to, which is basically the blood. So Kaiju Blue is an acidic material that instantly corrodes and contaminates anywhere it lands. It's sort of like described as a blood or blood mist that if you breathe in can make you very sick and kill you.

So they basically the ultimate representation of contamination, pollution, and radiation, due to their huge size, they require two brains, a main one and a secondary brain. Though the Kaiju's differ in shape, each Kaiju being unique, they have the same core DNA. They are adapted to dominate both land and in water, and some even can fly, and are able to survive extreme conditions on a huge pressure and heat. Well, they do come out at the bottom of the ocean, so that would make sense.

Clean that. Each Kaiju has unique weapons from powerful arms to claws to horns to acidic or venomous teeth or tails to wings or even electromagnetic discharges. Yeah, that one's nuts. Yeah, they get worse and worse as they go.

Yeah. So yeah, I mean, they're all based in nature. There are creatures that can create their own electricity and disperse it, right? Not you.

Yeah. So nothing, they have in the movies aren't on that we haven't seen in nature. Yeah. So the electronic charge is a bit of extreme case, but it does like E and P your city.

Right. Yeah, that's impressive. Yeah. And the whole that's yeah.

Well, we'll get to that. My favorite, my favorite one, having re-watched the movie after we did the last episode, my favorite Kaiju power out of nowhere is the one that just spits acid. Yeah. And it's just like, Oh, yeah.

Again, that makes it the very hard of five because you can't particularly do it. Yeah. Yeah. Right.

And that acid is probably like Kaiju Blue coming out of it as well. Yeah. Yeah. Do they not come up with a better name other than Kaiju Blue?

I mean, it's blue. Yeah, I get that. It's like vibrant blue. Like glowing.

I don't call blood human red. Maybe we should. We should. Actually, that's a better idea.

Got human red. I mean, what else does it call like, if they had a name for it, Kaiju is just like so cool. Generally, someone would have clamored to be able to put their name on it. There's probably a scientific name on it.

That's what I'm walking for. Obviously the beast was first discovered by Dr. Stephen Kaiju. So Dr.

Stephen Kaiju blue. Yeah. Oh, no, no, no. Dr.

Stephen Kaiju and then he's named it the Monster's Kaiju. No, no, no. Dr. Stephen Kaiju and Dr.

Angela Blue. Together discovered it. So true. Yeah.

We are. Now here. I'm happy again. And David's Stephen.

The ideal couple. Yes. Just because they're. Oh, man.

That's so he's. Wow, and his own heterophobic. because that's a phobic, hetero-centric. A gesture is inter-screening.

No matter what. There's no relations allowed in the kind you officers. Maybe it's one people to find love. Maybe it's hard to find love these days in an office environment.

Maybe it's one that might love. If you're interested in us helping Matt find love, it's episode four of Mass Effect, where we find him a delightful partner. And maybe one day we'll get a check in on how Matt's going with that part. Oh, never.

How am I doing dating the Mass Effect character? You've got the AI model essentially, right? You know, we said it was your screen background. She's greased with her in your head.

Does that end your head to walk around your house? Behavior. Humidity of nature. Predominantly mindless beasts who want to cause as much destruction as possible.

They are drawn to high areas of population and are highly aggressive. Basically attacking anything that will even come close to them, but they'll go towards the city, instantly. I'm a sense. I want to just make land.

So that's basically what we know about Kaiju's. There's other stuff we'll learn, but I want to introduce it at a cinematic timing. He's edging us. I'm edging it.

Nice. Ah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, we described you as a lot.

So basically they're a special mobile weapon giant robot built as the first and last defense against Kaiju's. They were designed to replace the use of nuclear bombs. They designed to generate as much kinetic energy as possible to disable the Kaiju. Basically punch them in the face very hard.

Built to match the size estimate of the Kaiju's and cause minimal collateral damage. Spoiler, they kind of don't. But yeah, and the reason they punch it, the reason they can't do works, I can't discuss it. Because they have skin, it's so tough that the best way to knock them out is punch them in the face and it gives them brain damage and turn all damage that kills them instead.

Right. It's like it's not about impulse. It's about like ensuring that there's some movement on there. It's like how Helman is supposed to break because it absorbs the damage.

If Helman was just titanium, your brain would get mushed against your skull and die. Yeah. Yeah. So that's the idea.

But also it won't help you. It's getting punched versus getting like run over. It's like continuous force versus impulse. Yeah.

That's why bludgeoning weapons are useful against knights in plate armour. Oh my god. And also why you would go for the head with something like a mace. That's why the pros arm is like that.

Yeah. Did you get this D&D armour and had weird stats and other ways? Why is it not resistant to bludgeoning? It's like any kind of.

It's really good at slashing and piercing. Got it. Due to the toxic nature of Kaiju's, Kaiju blubing their blood, they've come to me cut them that comes out. The Kaiju's rely on hand to hand combat using fists, swords and other close weapons.

Close range weapons. But the weapons that are designed to cauterize wounds from the Kaiju as their blood being toxic. So for example, their swords will have a thing that heats up in them. So when they cut them, they cauterize the wounds.

And they'll use plasma cannons that'll damage them at all. Keep the blood, keep the blue inside. That's the idea. Keep the blue inside to create less damage and even like don't damage the Kaiju's.

So punching them in the head doesn't generate too much Kaiju blue. Well, you're not breaking skin. Yeah, nice. I guess skin's really tough.

No, no, I'm with it. I'm just one of the unique weapons that we didn't talk about last night is the plasma caster, which is on a lot of them. They basically, oh, the missiles will be kind of similar, which is a particular dispersal cannon that fires a charged plasma to kill or cauterize kaiju's. So it's basically very, very, very hot to burn through.

Yeah, that is the idea. I mean, you're creating plasma for God's sake. Yeah, for God's sake. I'm making plasma for God's sake.

I was going to say, I love the humanity in this setting has not only discovered how to create plasma weaponry, but also made it gigantic and put it on a big robot. Oh, fuck yeah. And the room makes them bigger and better. I will asterix usable plasma weaponry.

We can make plasma weaponry. It's just not functional. Well, no, not functional, not not feasible. Fair enough.

I don't know if it's easier for them to make it on the big robot because they've got more room to put in this as a machinery. Yeah. I was trying to like handheld size. It's easy to make a jet pack on a robot that can get its arse burnt.

But then you want to make it big enough to be effective on a huge robot, especially like the jet pack has to be effective on a massive ton. Yeah, we set a rocket into space. That's fine. That's true.

We'll make sure that's a short burst rocket that most of the rocket is fuel. Yeah. Yeah. And it got into space.

We don't have to get this guy to jump. That's true. And it can use its legs to give it a bit of a shove. There's some motion here.

I'm cooking. I'm the engineer that gets banned from the discussions. It's time to continue the war. Yeah.

So we just ending we just end of 2015. So I said, we're going to 2016. OK. We're at peak.

I forget the timelines fucked. Yeah. Cool. 2016.

So Aqaiju attacks Hong Kong. This is the second Caiju attack while we have the Yeagers. It is killed by a Yeager presumably Horizon Bray, which is the Chinese. Yeager and his corpse is left in downtown Hong Kong.

A lot of details we don't have, like, who killed what and where the Yeagers exactly went to March. But we know that not exact, but kind of detail. We also don't know about every Caiju attack. In 2016, the March 2 Yeagers started to come in.

They started with the first South American Yeager, Diablo Intercept. So we now want to mark two as a way to make them better. Good. Soon after we'd have three other tier mark two Yeagers, this is a sole of profit, Puma Reel, and Eden Assassin.

Everything one of these is sick. I know. Pretty fucking sick. I love the names.

Also, every country has these. Are they? I think this might have been in the last episode, but is this design like a thing that's just because it's like, oh, the courage is coming. We have to share our resources.

Yeah. So we talked about the last episode. This is the humanity kind of came together and built the PPC, a DC, the Pan Pacific Defense Corp, which basically all the worlds came together. I think that you ended it, but I think it was just like, this is, I think the UN made the PPC.

No, dammit. I was on the line of like, did they open source the base like design for them for the? I think they, you and all that to make your own Kijas. No, come on.

I love the design on GitHub. No, it is very much like, it's like, you can't just make bombs. It's like, they're like the bomb. Come on.

I've got a Kijas. It's a very deadly weapon. It's definitely not my neighbor. It's very deadly weapon.

So I mean, you always wonder, like, if humanity's coming together like that is open up the designing tools to the whole world and just see if we've, because people aren't going to be able to just build the Aiga themselves without A, insane resources that no one would be able to get and see without like, and B, rather without like it being obvious what they're up to because they're, you know, hundreds of feet cool. They don't mention it. I do wonder. They don't mention this.

They just say the world came together and build these Yagas as a collective. Yeah. Each kind of building their own, but also like their sharing resources, right? They don't mention, I mean, half the world doesn't have to deal with the Pacific open and original.

I'll get a second. I'll get a second. I feel like I don't know. I don't know.

I think that this is like the Olympics. This is the engineer Olympics of like, how cool can you make your robot? But like, no one, I mean, well, the Yagas we know about, I mean, we shouldn't know about them. None of them are like, you don't get a, this is a French yagga.

Okay. Because they're not, they don't need a yagga. However, I'm not like a resource. No, I understand that.

But imagine a BMW ad with a German's would go crazy. This shit. Well, BMW is German, right? Yeah.

Yeah. I'm sure the German's a whole thing. But I just, it's the sickest thing ever. Just like we can, we can take out the kaiju.

We can make a car. We're just auto. Where's it? Build into water on one tank?

Yes. Oh, I'm cooking now. Okay. I've been kicked out of the engineering department into the advertising department.

Go. Fuck sake. I'm so excited about German engineering is when kaiju is attacked. Let's go.

See, cause this one's a panzer. Oh, no. So then we get to May 15, 2016. Oni Baba, again, we don't know the exact, I've said a 2040 ton.

Yagga, that's the estimate. I think it's about 220,000. It should be about 10. What to say?

Yagga. Sorry, kaiju attacks Tokyo. I'm angry at it. We don't know.

I love that we just don't know. Fair, fair. You can keep our records. Yeah.

The Kioditango steps in and defeats it. Yeah. Soon after, both pilots have a medical checkup and discover they both have cancer. So an oversight in the early Yagga designs is the exposure to nuclear, the nuclear reactor because all the yagga is a power by nuclear reactor.

Especially like the Mark 1s. Yeah. Just like Mark 1s. Yeah, exactly.

So an oversight. No one raised it. It was an oversight. I mean, they rushed these out, right?

This is why you open source the design. I would have raised it. This has led to cancer in the pilots and also a neural overload. Like it is a lot piling these out.

Oh, yeah. So this is going to problem 40 Mark 1 to Mark 3. But the Mark 3 is still in the bell right now. So there's like rise to say like they are still nuclear, but they get a lot more shielding.

Somehow they press on and try to find a solution, but these are still their best weapons against the end of the world. So like it's kind of things like you're going to get cancer, but like if you don't get cancer, the whole city is dead. Yeah. So it's like I'm stepping in.

It's the new guy's heart thing. Yeah. Got a kill. Yeah.

And like the, um, that's the word like getting cancer is awful. Yes. But also like you're not necessarily talking like you're going to die the second you get in this yagorate. So we're going to put the more chance you're dying by the way.

Yeah. Yeah. My point being like cancer is slow. It's a slow terrible, terrible, very sad death.

My point being if someone's already a soldier, they're kind of living with sacrifice in that they have like five years in them ish. If they aren't inviting the yaggers, the yaggers just going to kill them. I mean, the amount of times they say like the amount of times they mentioned, they're like, get me out there. It's a suicide mission.

I don't care. Yeah. These guys are the ones who willingly sign the consent form for the punching, the alien monster nuclear monster thing coming out of the ocean. Yeah.

Yeah. Mission. So again, these yaggers were going up against kajus and winning, right? Yeah.

Again, we have three in a row, win, win, win. It's gone easy. It's honestly, it started to feel easy. The one one, one yaga feel like easily enough to take any kaju.

Then June 21st hits attack emerges from the breach. A massive category true kaju emerges and takes to Tokyo by storm. Tackett Ronan. I'm going to jump on the name sometimes, but we'll see.

He's deployed against it and manages to damage the yaga reactor mid fight leading to radiation leads. It is deemed to deploy Kyoto Tango to help. So one of the generals, like you've got to get in there, basically. With the help from Kyoto Tango, Kyoto Tango, they managed to kill it.

Kyoto Tango takes is heavily damaged to ever and is deemed inoperable and is retired. The pilots of the first yaga that's been retired. Tackett Ronan also received so much radiation, like the pilots, sorry, and neural damage when their pod was hit, that they are retired to not fight every again or risk death. If you step into a drift again, your brain will shut down.

On July 5th, 2016, just over two weeks later, very close from what we've seen so far. So, Kari Rata, also approaching Tokyo Bay. Victory alpha is deployed to stop it, however, the fight does not go well. Its huge size meant to overpower the yaga, but victory alpha is the last working yaga in the region.

Or is it? It is deemed that Tackett Ronan must go into help, even with its injured pilots. It's only been two weeks since they were told they should not have the yaga, they will die. Tackett Ronan arrives just in time with victory alpha is still destroyed and retired, but the two pilots were saved.

Tackett Ronan makes a short and sweet fight slaying Ragnarok with a sword. He is a great player, even as this brief run in the yaga is too much, and both the pilots die of neural overload. Damn, what does a neural overload look like? Do we get a vision of it?

This doesn't happen in the movie. This happens, I believe, in a novelization or a comment. So, yeah, a lot of you mentioned we get four. It's literally in the movie, you get three minutes of them describing the war, and then we get to like 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20.

Okay, cool. So, this whole lot of information we get from other material. But would it be considered like an aneurysm or is it just like? Probably like an an aneurysm.

Yeah, like a brain just frying. Yeah, that makes sense. It is being plugged directly into a nuclear reactor, so it makes sense. Yeah, that's a bit much.

It's also like your neural overload is looking at a huge system. It's way too much of one person that's like to be on the unit for the entire system. But then you can't drift. You've got to be able to drift to no wind situation.

It's like fast and furious. You've got to be able to drift. Yeah, you have to drift. It's all about the drift mode from that family.

Like watching fast and furious don't get drift the way that it's grabbing is the exact same to describing drifting in Pacific Rim. Yeah, except in Pacific Rim. Except in Pacific Rim. No, it's not.

They're both pique. No, it's okay. Have you watched Pacific Rim? Yeah, Pacific Rim music is pique.

It's always Tokyo Drift. On August 9, 2016, a Chatterdome is established in Lima, Peru, and many would follow in the next 20 months. One in Anchorage, Alaska, nicknamed the Icebox, one in Vladiskoth, Vladiskoth, Russia, one in Tokyo, Japan, one in Sydney, Australia, one in Los Angeles, California, and one in Panama City. It's all over Pacific.

Sorry, did you say Chatterdome? Yeah, sorry. You talked about last time. Chatterdomes like the big headquarters where they build and store Yegas and deploy.

No, no, no, no, no, no. It's a good to explain again. It's huge in Dutch, where they build and restore and deploy them. And they have big opening rooms where they pick up the Yegas by helicopters, with the climbing.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.

It's just a cool fucking name. It's a sick ass name. It does also sound like the place they would try and lure the Kaggis to fight them. It's like I get into Chatterdome.

This is true. One would be one would be in the Chatterdome by all of me. Oh, yeah. Well, babe late in the Chatterdome.

Until late 2017, now the first mark three Yegas launched. Are the American gypsy danger? Gypsy danger. I want to just one thing because the word gypsy is often is seen like and can be a slow for the reminding people I want it like to be gypsy doesn't come from the people to remind people it comes from an early British engine One of the thing that helped the industrial revolution a big big step in the world was called the gypsy engine.

Yeah So that's where they get the name. They didn't just get the name off their money people So when I use gypsy I use it as the name of the kaju and I refer to the engine It is one of those words that means a lot of different things over the world. I don't know why you're naming it gypsy Like I thought it's an engine. Yeah, that's coming out.

Yeah. Yeah, interesting. Yeah, gypsy danger, which is our gonna be a maybe I'm a character Maybe whoa Watch the movie Soon following we get the rest of the mark three so we have Mexican yaga matador fury the Chinese Jager Shallon Road we have a Australian yaga Vulcan specter. Okay.

Well, come on get at least like kangaroo in there or something I don't know we have Canadian yaga chrome Brutus Actually, sorry when Matt gets to it the the real Australian yaga comes in all the things cool as far as The mark three is still nuclear but they think they have more protection against this cancer's radiation With and better marks came before them. So going forward they won't have nuclear. We'll get to that But this one still has a nuke in it. It's just better padding basically.

They actually shielded against it. Yeah soon after gypsy danger gets a Stable you piloted by the Beckett brothers. It is up against Yamarashi one of the largest categories three is ever seen To come to the breach and it is the largest yaga to date by this point Gypsy danger however is easily not like a large is a girl largest card. Sorry.

I'm gonna get a few songs I'm sorry about it. No, it's fine. They're both right upwards. I just caiju to come through gypsy danger is a little Especially over but one question going on we know we know yaga's are fighting Kaiju's and they're saving the world, right?

What's the side of you don't what's happening shit in their fucking crying shitting shitting in their bridges? No, originally yeah, originally they were trying to originally are we playing what's the game you keep talking about reporters or something now? I I think I'm trying to get photos with things one thing about humanity is that humanity adapts very fast to any situation and once they're like I can actually live here I think you man that goes back to the senator ways and just makes it feel normal because they want to feel normal So like one thing they were very normalized is very quickly and go like there's no point panicking the kaiju I'm gonna kill me or not the egos depending me. I'm gonna live my life.

That's usually what happens Yeah, pretty much so the kaiju's continue to get larger and larger and more dangerous But the egos are keeping up and it can't feel normal cults and religion start to form around the kaiju's So there's awesome people worshiping the kaiju's thinking they are should be here if they ride for place like people seeing these things as gods Mm-hmm that we shouldn't be fighting our gods coming through yeah Companies use kaiju's as mascots. They joked about on TV. Yeah, yeah, I go pilots are becoming the new astronauts all over TV very famous Every kid wants to be one. Yeah, it's the other superstars of the world.

It's the super star. It's real. Yeah, so yeah, literally everything is kaiju Right, I could just imagine the brand deals a yay go pilot will get off the first kill Oh, yeah, Beckett brothers be I just isn't from me riffin But Beckett brothers getting like their first big kaiju kill and being like endorsed by Nike It's like now if you want to be as strong and powerful and jump as high as the Beckett brothers get the new Nike kick Every every every time I get into a kaiju I drink a red bull and then I that gives any wings to punch a kid Who would sponsor like a flying kaiju like zero down? That's there's nothing yeah, yeah, that's the one imagine No, they sponsor like I should have the word of me for it.

Yeah, good. My stuff. Yeah, yeah My stuff would literally love this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah would have a great time I know still stomping in their boots about We can't turn into culture someone would make I'd you do like a blue energy drink yeah, yeah, yeah coach already on it They've got that recipe in the back Kaiju's studied studies become an official sciences and many experts on the matter begin to be hired and used to combat them a huge black Market is set up it's sprung up around kaiju's parts being used as all sorts displays drugs medication drugs good luck Chums.

Yeah, oh no never mind. Yeah, I get that drugs. You can make drugs out of cars I was like what there's like surely not but like right oh horns or things that making people can snort anything Caiju Barnes would be a great crazy heart. It would be an effort I'll give say in the movie that they literally make a joke like ground up kaiju bones the best effort easy act in the world Yeah, they literally do yeah, it's hard as a rock three days I passed out from bloodlust to my head Fact I'm still hard now my wife will speak to me anymore.

Take this bill and fuck like a yay You can be the kaiju your wife can be the ager Yager in the streets kaiju in the sheets And also weapons and scams so many scams parts that even the experts team unsalvageable I've taken by the back market and kept alive honestly There's a lot of the black market knows that even kaiju experts working for the PPD see don't know about the kaiju Many kaiju corpses are taken as quickly as possible by the PPD see but some are left and salvaged up Also often the black market are the pays to get access to the parts or get access before they can even get there So it is a special right to get to the kaiju's overall the world has become complacent and comfortable with their new norm Talks about less funding starts to go about the yager program as the problem seems resolved in the eyes of the public and politicians Think about four years for four years political cycle. It's already been two years. I think about change They're like I actually were doing way too much money on kai on yagas, you know, we've got the solution now these yagas win Do you find the yagas? I am doing what I am I'm piloting yagas you need me Yeah Talks about yeah, sorry, but moving on to 2018 the mark for yagas are released These are the first yagas to go digital using pure power and set up the nuclear reactors.

They were battery power digital yagas digital yagas digital monster Yagas are the champions So these are the first like pure battery power yagas nice. They have no nuclear actors in them which makes them safer, but also Not as reliant also, well, they're using battery power Like okay, okay Again, I can't assume I assume they have to be battery because I say they're digital and the other ones analog, right? That's only describe it and I Have to get right because they don't talk anything about fusion. It was fusion I was gonna say that's what I was expecting.

They never mention the word fusion in time movie It's be fair to still ready action the comes from fusion. Yeah, so we had to assume the batch about in my eyes That makes sense. Yeah, I'm wrong. It would be Yeah, no, it's the correct option.

Yeah in my eyes. I would have mentioned fusion if they had it, right? They're using it right everywhere. Yeah, you know And the new yagas we have the mark 4s we have the American yagga Hydra Corinthian and mammoth a postal We have the green yagga Nova Hyperion.

We have the Japanese yagga echo saber and the Chinese yagat crimson typhoon Oh, yeah on November 2nd 2019 I skip before a little bit the first mark 5 yagas boy Oh, wait all this time. Yeah, kaiju's are coming in attacking and defending it's not a lot, but it's like a couple of a year So that's about usually what happens like sometimes it gets a little more something gets a little less But like it's usually I think the average in this time this period is usually about four to five a year Okay, and they attack different cities every time. Yeah, seemingly. Yeah, okay, so I'm like looking at like what one one kaiju a year Yeah, right so it's done seeing that though you train all year for that one fight You know to be fair Melbourne has like zero nuclear nuclear fucking natural disasters.

We have to like be ready for yeah In the area where it at least we don't have like this bushfires in Melbourne It's like not an eye area and there's nobody hurricanes and all like earthquakes We got a little shake occasionally. I mean also it hit anywhere along the coast in Sydney before it moment Well, they just mention them attacking Sydney. Yeah Perfect, we're fine Melbourne continues to love how it does their head to areas of population which means they just skip Brisbane Spread out The big city people know obviously for like what it's been so funny. They just skip riz But there are more people in Sydney.

It's a it's a brighter light for them all I guess that's true yet But yeah, also the first mark in November 2nd 2019 the first mark five yay is deployed mmm Striker your recap. Yeah, yeah, and it's Australian baby strike a ureka strike and you gotta say with that Strike a ureka. They are the two actors they get for that. Yeah, you got a so was the I love it You got it.

You got every time they have like a nation coming there so their nation if it's not the guy who plays Oh, what's his name? Suicide squad who's the no, it's not like it's not been right. No, it's not be right It's almost actually I don't think I've seen it. No anything else.

I can't remember them anything I saw it dude quickly googling. I was like Charlie day Australian. No, he's in the movie though So yeah, so it is the deadliest yay get to date But almost as expected it is the most expensive costing by far it is a hundred billion to make it and by and yeah And it's by the way that twice in the sentence with the public and government both react badly how much it costs With the focus seemingly they're like why are you spending so much money on the ship? We got this solved right we fixed all this okay, we do I was gonna say is that a GDP from them?

Okay, we can like we're not doing I mean we spent what billions of dollars on bloody submarines we can build a fucking The public and government both react badly too much as I said and They don't need the effect. They don't care about the effect until the a go on the 29th of February 2020 Tragically was strike for the Americans. This is the day that things kind of change. Okay Beyond where they've already changed yes gypsy danger was sent to protect anchorage.

Sorry that motherfuck is still going. Yeah, dude There's a lot like I listen we got the new models. Yeah, they still got the almost out there I know yeah, so if you don't really sent to protect anchorage from knife head again Also these are the other you the ones you don't change a once you're in one right also And they talk a lot about how the pilots is the key right they talk a lot about that This one is a big kaiju called a knife head a brutal 315 foot tall kaiju category three the largest one on record largest category through a record to like date even in the future Knife head was not gonna be easy. However, this isn't ultimately why it knife it would be so difficult Knife head fought hard which is a danger But ultimately was taken down by three blasts from their plasma caster to the side falling down in dead into the water Danger presumably over gypsy danger relaxed.

However, it was all a ruse as knife had launched itself back up on the water going for the con pod the pilots could not couldn't get the plasma caster up in time and It couldn't fire it off in time and it got to the cockpit I managed to tear open killing Yancy Beckett mid drift with a mine connected Yes, ripped out of there and dies with a really Beckett still connected to his dead brother as he died Miraculously Rayleigh Beckett managed to pilot the egg alone managing to kill knife head stumbling to shore before collapsing Imagine to get out of there. You know the only time we've seen someone pile younger solo like for a significant amount of time Massive after that point all kaiju's had fought as mindless brutes beaten by fighting prowess and heavy machinery This was the first one they fought had cunning and intelligence and this would only increase in the coming years Rayleigh would retire dealing with the loss of his brother and gypsy danger would go basic to scrap heap But eventually are to be picked up in later years. We'll get to wait. Okay.

No gypsy danger ship is the mate Is that a main character we're talking about for? Yes, okay trick into thinking that we already have the pilots in it I'm gonna be fucking old no no with it I'm good with it. Yeah, but it's brother's dead his brother's dead. Oh, yeah Over the next four years all would go downhill basically With the fall of gypsy in 2020 at the storm the perfect storm arises the cost of striarchy rika fresh in the mind And the fall of gypsy danger put doubt and a new concept starts to take hold the wall of life program the logic goes No kaiju attack a wall bordering a coastline.
