Description: Dr. Branch shares his personal journey and perspective on success. Growing up in Dayton, Ohio Dr. Branch's idea of success was simply graduating high school and getting a job, whether in the military, a factory, or a service industry role. However, after being encouraged by family members to try college, the host ended up attending the University of West Alabama, though initially just to "kick it" rather than for academic reasons. Once there, he became a member of the first Black Fraternity, which exposed him to peers who were more focused on their education and future careers. The episode also touches on the host's financial struggles in college that ultimately led to him getting kicked out.
