I got quite frustrated last week.

I’ve been doing a lot of mock interviews.

I’ve also been learning more about the differences in pageant interview between Miss USA, Miss America, and Miss Volunteer America, by interviewing contestants who have competed in all three (they’re COMPLETELY different by the way).

Here’s what frustrated me—there’s a HUGE amount of information about pageant interview you need to know that simply isn’t available or easily accessible.

It’s either gatekept, paywalled, or simply not talked about.

And to me that’s completely unacceptable.

I can’t tell you how many mock interview sessions I’ve had recently where a client will tell me that my feedback is the first REAL feedback they’ve been given in a session. Not a generic “that was good” or a cliched “just be yourself”, but ACTUAL constructive feedback that they can take away and work on.

Also I don’t know what’s going on, but so many of you sound EXACTLY the same when answering mock interview questions. It’s actually uncanny. It’s like you’ve all been given the same formula for answering, but in my opinion, it’s a formula for DISASTER.
