Paint the Town Red

from Discover Virginia Podcast · host Joe

In today's episode, we had the pleasure of hosting Darsey, a multifaceted individual who wears many hats - a business owner, artist, and dreamer. Darsey's journey is nothing short of inspiring. Not only is she an accomplished artist who takes on commission work and creates murals, but she's also the proud owner and founder of "Crush It On Canvas LLC."Established in November 2022, Crush It On Canvas is all about hosting art parties that emphasize creativity, connection, and pure fun. But before diving into the world of entrepreneurship, Darsey dedicated five years of her life teaching art at Norfolk Public Schools. From introductory art to advanced drawing and painting classes, she's done it all. However, life took a turn when she welcomed her son, Rowen, in 2020. Leaving her teaching career behind, Darsey spent the initial years of Rowen's life as a stay-at-home mom. During this period, she also collaborated with a company, honing her skills in team building and sales. But the artist in her yearned for more. She wanted to merge her passion for teaching art with the thrill of entrepreneurship. And after brainstorming various business ideas, "Crush It On Canvas LLC" was born. For those interested in learning more about Darsey's ventures or perhaps attending one of her art parties, you can visit her Facebook page: Crush It On Canvas LLC.
