Palestinian resistance to settler colonial violence in Sheikh Jarrah

from Radioactive Show · host Badour Hassan and Aseel Albajeh

Today is a special Nakba Day show, highlighting the recent struggle of Palestinians in Jerusalem against displacement and the settler colonial violence of the Israeli state. I’ll share with you a talk given by Badour Hassan and Aseel Albajeh, who talk about the resistance of Sheikh Jarrah families to forced eviction from their homes in East Jerusalem and the broader Palestinian resistance to colonisation. These talks were part of a webinar held by the Foundation for Middle East Peace called “Jerusalem on the Verge: Dispossession & Violence in Sheikh Jarrah”, which was hosted by the Foundation’s president Lara Friedman on May 6th. You can watch the full webinar here: https://fmep.org/event/jerusalem-on-the-verge-dispossession-violence-in-sheikh-jarrah/Note this show was completed before Israel re-commenced bombing of Gaza, with many deaths including children.
