☉ Palpebræ Mix 21: Blu Aloé [Live] ☉ About Blu Aloé: New Zealand-born Blu Aloé grew up in Cologne, Germany, where she became involved in the local techno scene in proximity to the Cologne-based label and cultural research platform Brutalism. Bodily and immediate, her voice is often treated as significant matter — granulated, eroded into space until it ceases human characteristics and becomes stark texture. Working with modular synthesis and live performance electronics, the practice of the Berlin-based artist moves between confrontational noise and something so fragile and delicate it threatens to dissolve into nothingness. Both extremes embody vessels; both being forces coming from opposite directions; both cathartic purifiers of emotions. The concept of duality plays a pivotal role in Blu Aloés work — moving through experimental sound design, dark drones, rigid mechanical techno rhythms and eventually being left with nothing but bareness and delicate lingering. When language does surface, it arrives in a fragmented poetic way, coming from the interior of self. Her debut on Regis’ Downwards Records, Herde (2026), quickly sold out on Boomkat. Boomkat placed her at the crossroads of Maria Zerfall’s cult 80s DIY works, Anne Gillis and the rugged charges of Tuning Circuits — describing a steely grasp of modular synthesis that finds a bind between hermetic concentration and resonant decay, a spectral voice operating at the crossroads of industrial experimentation, drone and noise techno. Stark greyscale contrasts and doom techno, they wrote. With a darkly sublime kiss-off in vaulted sepulchral space. ☉ About the mix: “I have always been drawn to both sonic extremes equally — uncomfortable harshness and fragile intimacy. Both seem cathartic to me. Both necessary vessels to rinse through. This live recording moves through confrontational noise, dark modular drone, vocal practice, rigid mechanical techno rhythms and delicate lingering. An anticlimactic transition of states before notes dissolve into vast space.ˮ ☉ Follow Blu Aloé here: @blualoe / https://www.instagram.com/blu_aloe/ / https://blualoe.bandcamp.com/ ☉ Follow Palpebræ here: on SoundCloud: @palpebraenetwork on web: www.palpebrae.com on Instagram: www.instagram.com/palpebraenetwork/ on Facebook: www.facebook.com/palpebraenetwork
