Pam Schulz - Parenting Neurodivergent Teenagers: Nurturing Independence and Launching Them Into the World
from The Marvelous Middle Age Podcast · host Nicole Studt
Welcome back to the Marvelous Middle Age Podcast! This week I’m speaking with Pam Schulz. Pam is the wife of a high school social studies teacher and mother to two neurodivergent teenage boys. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and previously worked in public education for 20 years as a music teacher and school administrator. Pam is on the Executive Board of the Iowa P.E.O. Sisterhood and Executive Board of Marion Cares. She is also a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. This week Pam and I discuss how this past year, Pam and her husband launched their oldest son out into the world as he began his first year of college. She shares how they navigated his early educational experiences, how she is adjusting to him being in college and how her role as mom is changing. It was an encouraging conversation about how our kids can pursue their passions and take their own paths in life. I hope you enjoy this conversation with my friend, Pam Schulz.
