Maybe your words sometimes move faster than your wisdom. Maybe temptation has been testing your boundaries. Maybe you carry leadership, influence, authority, or responsibility and want to carry it with integrity.Or perhaps you are praying for God to open another door, increase your influence, enlarge your territory, or entrust you with something greater.Before asking God to change what is around us, perhaps we need to pray:“God, change what needs to change within me.”Psalm 51:10 declares:“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”This is a prayer of surrender to God’s refining work.A prayer for integrity.A prayer for discipline.A prayer for self-control.A prayer for wisdom when temptation comes.A prayer for humility when correction is necessary.A prayer that our private character will honor the God we profess publicly.Joseph’s integrity was tested before he stood before Pharaoh. Daniel’s integrity survived scrutiny.
