In the US, acute pancreatitis leads to about 275,000 hospitalizations per year, and about 15-20% of these cases are considered severe.  For patients who develop a severe case of pancreatitis, the mortality rate is a whopping 40%. Our guest today is registered dietitian and nutrition support specialist, Amy Berry, MS, LD, RD, CNSC , to discuss her experiences with this patient population.
