PANDEMIC SAFE WORKOUTS! Skate Dancing w/Katy Frame: "We can't just erase Black people from skating when they've been keeping it alive"

from Work it Out! · host Megan Meadows

We are so pumped to have the wonderful Katy Frame of musical comedy act Reformed Whores (www.katyframe.com, @katyframe on insta) as this week's guest talking about her fav workout- skate dancing! We learn all about Katy's super fit parents, how lying to your kids is GREAT parenting technique (psych!), and how important cute outfits are to skate culture. Katy also educates us on the history of skating in the US and how this sport has been alive in well in Black communities across the country, despite the systematic racism and prejudice that has tried to kill this sport. Now that white people are starting to take notice and drive a 'resurgence' of interest in skate culture, we gotta make sure we're not white-washing history and giving credit where it's due.
