Panthers GM Dan Morgan: Key Roster Cut Takeaways

General Manager Dan Morgan recently evaluated the Carolina Panthers' roster following final cuts, noting that other teams claiming their waived players signals a rise in overall talent. The team prioritized linebacker depth by signing veteran Bobby Okereke and adding Tyrel Dodson to the practice squad, even though it meant releasing promising young players. Concerns remain regarding the offensive line, where injuries to starters have left the group reliant on inexperienced rookies and recent waiver additions. Morgan also highlighted the decision to carry five tight ends, including Darren Waller, to provide the offense with diverse personnel groupings. Furthermore, the roster features several undrafted free agents who earned spots through high-energy performances during the preseason. Overall, the front office remains committed to continually refining the lineup and seeking competitive depth throughout the upcoming season.
