Parables — The Parable of the Sower

Continuing the parables series, this message reads Luke 8:4-15 as an answer to a hard question: why do so many hear the gospel and reject it? The parable Jesus himself explains, and the problem turns out to be not the sower or the seed but the soil — the condition of the human heart. The sower is Jesus, and now the church. The message presses believers to sow plentifully, passionately, and patiently, noting that even Jesus' own teaching and miracles were met with a cold shoulder by many who saw them firsthand. Four responses are traced — the unresponsive, impulsive, distracted, and productive heart — alongside the reminder that only the Spirit changes a heart. Yet the church can still prepare soil, pulling weeds and soaking seed with prayer, trusting an imperishable word.
