We discussed and dispelled some of the arguments being put forward by more educated scholars, and at-leas, we hope. broke it down in a way thats understandable to most everyone. As a Libertarian, and an Independent neither Jeffrey or i have a dog in the fight. Our thoughts and perspectives come from the letter of the law. The average Americans interpretations, and good all common sense. I think it was a great conversation. Not one being had by the pendants, or the radicals left and right. We're the people right? The authority to take such action is granted to the president by Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution. A pardon is one form of the clemency power of the president, the others being commutation of sentence, remission of fine or restitution, and reprieve.
