Parenting and the fourth step EP 170

A couple of great topics from the meeting last night, parenting and why the fourth step seems so scary. Parenting has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever done and one of the biggest sources of shame, guilt, and regret. Mainly around the fear of screwing my kid up and around falling short or losing my temper. Ultimately, everything works out better than I can imagine but boys is scary. As far as the force step, there’s often a big fear involved. The idea of sharing all of my secrets with someone else can be terrifying for people. However, in my experience, it’s more about getting honest with myself and building community in connection with people. The first step doesn’t have to be scary but it takes work.
