Parents Are People, Too

Hey, family! I hope y'all are having a great Friday! Today's episode is about how we need to add more context to our parents' lives to truly understand them. They had lives, burdens, and trauma well before you were born. Like I mention in the episode, I do not condone any babd bahavior or abuse from parents to their children, quite the opposite. But I have found that de-centering myself from their actions and parenting choices, has helped me see they have just as much going on as I do (sometimes with half the resources).
