Parents for Change wants gtransformation at Rustenburg Junior School for Girls
from AM Live on SAfm · host SABC News and Current Affairs
SAfm — A group of parents at the Rustenburg Junior School for Girls in Cape Town who identify themselves as Parents for Change say they want their children to be taught in a school environment that prepares them to live and work in a diverse community. They believe that the school refuses to transform after it made headlines following the resignation of a grade five teacher who was the first Black class teacher to be appointed in the school's history. Nozipho Mthembu left her job in September this year after just nine months of employment following accusations by learners, parents and the school that her performance did not meet the required standard. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the group’s spokesperson Nuraan Davids.
