Paris Trial for Channel Smugglers | Spokane News

Fourteen men stand trial in Paris for orchestrating the deadliest migrant crossing of the English Channel—where over thirty lives, including a seven-year-old girl’s, were lost when an unseaworthy dinghy deflated. Accused of involuntary manslaughter and criminal conspiracy, they’re linked to Afghan and Iraqi-Kurdish smuggling rings operating from French camps. The boat lacked certifications and life-saving gear, sealing its fate in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes. While British investigators say rescue failures made the deaths preventable, this trial marks the first legal action against smugglers—and may open doors for future cases involving French military personnel. Nine Kurdish witnesses are set to testify, offering grieving families a glimmer of justice. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
