Parker Messick Makes Guardians History | Cleveland Guardians News

Parker Messick, the lefty phenom from Florida State, is officially an MLB All-Star for the first time — and he’s not alone, as Travis Bazzana and Cade Smith join him from Cleveland. Messick’s dominant season has earned him the respect of his peers, making him the first Guardians lefty starter to earn an All-Star nod since Cliff Lee in 2008. From ACC Pitcher of the Year to AL Central anchor, his college fire has translated to the majors with elite stats and poise. Even after the All-Star news, he stayed focused, reflecting on the surreal journey from childhood fan to game participant. The festivities begin July 10th in Philly — a proud milestone for Messick and the Guardians, who’ve now had multiple All-Stars for ten straight years.
